Position Overview:
The Roofing Estimator is responsible for evaluating project specifications, conducting site assessments, and preparing detailed cost estimates for roofing jobs. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and construction methods, along with excellent math and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Review architectural drawings, project plans, and specifications
Conduct site visits to assess roof conditions and gather measurements
Calculate labor, material, and time requirements for each project
Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates, bids, and proposals
Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and timelines
Track project changes and update estimates accordingly
Collaborate with sales and project management teams to ensure estimate accuracy and job profitability
Stay current on industry pricing, products, and best practices
Requirements:
Proven experience as a roofing estimator or in a related role (roofing/construction knowledge required)
Strong understanding of residential and commercial roofing systems
Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g., Xactimate, EagleView, or similar)
Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits
