Etain Health is one of New York's few medical marijuana companies. We are committed to manufacturing clean, safe, and consistent medical marijuana products for the patients of New York State. OBJECTIVE: 

The Extraction Associate will be responsible for operating and maintaining multiple forms of extraction and processing equipment within the Etain manufacturing facility in Chestertown, NY. This role involves repetitive tasks, but requires an individual passionate about cannabis extracts and concentrates, who can problem solve, operate and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Extraction Associate tasks include, but are not limited to the following list. You may be asked to  perform any or all of these tasks on a given day while maintaining compliance with the relevant  regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices. 

• Extract plant material through CO2, ethanol, or other solvents and solventless techniques.
• Process cannabis extract through a variety of post extraction processing steps including but not limited to winterization, filtration, decarboxylation, distillation and solvent recovery.
• Safely operate various machinery and equipment that may contain positive or negative pressure and may be made of glass.
• Maintain a clean work environment as well as clean equipment/tools and glassware.
• Perform preventative and restorative maintenance on all extraction, post processing, distillation, grinding, and production equipment.
• Learn and improve different extraction processes and techniques.
• Operate distillation equipment while maintaining potency objectives.
• Grind and weigh cannabis flower for extraction.
• Dispose of waste in accordance with the New York State Regulations, and Good  Manufacturing Practices.
• Follow the Etain LLC guidelines for sanitary practices regarding hand washing, and the  use of PPE such as protective lenses, suits, gloves, shoe covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes,  and respirators. 
• Maintain Batch Manufacturing Records as required by Good Manufacturing Practices,  Etain LLC, and NYS regulations.
• Participate in training sessions designed to either improve your skills or your  understanding of Etain LLC and the New York State Regulations. 
• Work cohesively with team members to achieve department objectives.

COMPETENCIES: 

• Ability to perform repetitive actions with a high level of accuracy over time. 
• Ability to use a computer and to learn new programs including seed-to-sale software for accurate record keeping.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. 
• Ability to stand for 8 hours. 
• Mechanical knowledge and skill required for troubleshooting various devices.
• Must be comfortable working with flammable or hazardous materials. 
• Ability to operate complex machinery independently.
• Must be able to recognize if there is an issue with quality control of extracts.

Comfortable communicating in oral and written forms to managers and coworkers.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

• High School Diploma
• Possess knowledge and experience of extraction processes in an industrial or consumer environment 
• Passion for and knowledge of various forms of cannabis concentrates
• Must be 21 years old

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a manual labor position which requires occasional heavy lifting. An individual in this role will work both independently and as part of a team, depending on the production requirements. This position operates within a factory/manufacturing setting which can have various temperature and noise environments. Importantly, all members of the Etain staff must wear PPE including Tyvek suits, scrubs, boot covers, non-slip shoes, protective eyewear, hair and beard nets, gloves, and respirators. 

TRAVEL: 

Travel is not required as a part of this position; however online education will be offered to assist  in employee development and advancement. Occasionally, this position may require travel to  conferences for education and enrichment.
