    ETALON is an early-stage startup based in Menlo Park that has built a genetic diagnostic platform that provides comprehensive panels of commercially available genetic diagnostics, in addition to many new genetic markers and diagnostics for horses, making Etalon unique in the market and highly desirable in the equine community. 

    While the genetic testing panels are, alone, very cutting edge, Etalon is also focused on using horse and owner data, disciplines and show information  to bridge equine communities, and scientifically match breeders to build or find their ideal horse, stallion, mare, foal, etc..

     Etalon is an amazing early-stage company with less than 20 employees and we all wear several hats. 

    The HR Adminstrator will work closely with the COO, ensuring our company onboards, develops and retains our great people.

    ABOUT YOU

    • You have demonstrated critical thinking and planning while working at a small, early-stage company that grew quickly.
    • You have worked in and supported an office and remote-first workplace, so you understand how to implement communication and operation policies that provide an inclusive work environment.
    • You have worked at a company with remote employees and managed SUI registration
    • You are very comfortable with CA employment compliance and preferably have experience in MA, NY, WA and other US states
    • You rely on collaboration and feedback to help you develop, shape and operate your projects.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Create HR project schedules with the COO for HR projects that you will own and execute on. 
    • Initiate and manage all state registration documentation.
    • Onboard new employees; overseeing both operational and employee engagement programming.
    • Address employees' questions, requests and grievances in a timely manner.
    • Stay current on new employment policies, rules and laws.
    • Manage state SOS filings & annual filings
    • Set and oversee vacation & sick time accruals, usage & roll-overs
    • Manage Insurance requirements (disability, workers comp, etc.)
    • Mangage the employee handbook updates
    • Manage annual filings for Workers Comp.

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Demonstrated experience as either an HR Administrator
    • Excellent communication abilities
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Leadership skills
    • Ability to foster healthy employee relations
    • BSc degree
    • Prefer love and knowledge of horses
