    Job Summary

    The Head of Global e-commerce - Direct to Consumer will be responsible for the brand's global e-commerce business; tasked with building a world-leading online shopping platform and building the global online marketing strategy to facilitate growth. The ideal candidate is someone who has successfully built a brand online before, to take this multi-million dollar company to the next level.

    Key duties will include managing financials in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer (to whom this position reports), developing the strategic plan alongside the Chief Marketing Officer and country managers. 

    This person will be responsible for proactive website management with an eye to future trends, data analytics and user experience.

    This candidate will report to the COO and collaborate closely with the CMO and New Zealand based head office as well as key cross functional partners (digital agencies/ Amazon team/ commercial regional heads) to ensure excellent execution, find new opportunities, and ensure communication is shared through the team based across different time zones. Clear communication, both written and verbal, are essential for success and an exceptional history within the digital space and passion for FMCG (ideally beauty) is a must.

    Key areas of responsibility:

    Marketing strategy: Develop the e-commerce strategy and calendar activations based on global objectives and by market. Communicate updates to global team, digital agency, US Amazon team & local market leads as needed. Including a focus on promotional review and recommendations, learnings post execution. Serve as point person regarding new DTC, launches, sample PO’s and all tracking associated with new inventory for the brand sites.

    Performance Reporting: Collaborate with digital agency to implement best in class data analysis and recommend actions. Daily optimization of performance marketing. Work with US based Amazon team to optimize Amazon return. Link analytics to key activations – to create actions that are backed by data for our e-commerce strategy. Report on key competitor analysis and tracking best practices.

    Merchandising: Follow site merchandising principles and guidelines to ensure all areas of the site are shopping optimized based on various marketing, traffic and customer journeys. Develop new processes as it relates to site maintenance and merchandizing in order to improve productivity and efficiency with copy, creative and the digital agency.

    UX: Conduct final user testing and quality assurance processes on all new offer codes and new products to ensure accuracy, browser compatibility and highest quality user experience. Collaborate and lead to ensure all site promotions are properly set-up, scheduled and on site prior to launch. Dedicate time weekly to lead and/or assist with critical site features, bugs and and/or new functionality in close partnership with the agency. Share key site learnings and process wins with senior team.

    Delivery: Deliver the stretch targets for all key markets. Manage and allocate spends in accordance with ‘best market’ and ‘best platform’ return. Deliver a strategy to constantly deliver ROAS at or above current levels with ever increasing scale.

    Site Merchandising & Marketing: Monitor site for bugs and work with the digital agency for resolution (including ticket logging, testing and communication of fixes).

    Cross-functional Partnerships: Partner with regional leads to create a local promotional plan for D2C supporting the global strategy and local needs. Primary point of contact for Customer Service and Local Markets [NZ, AU, US/CAN, UK/EU] for all promotions, marketing plans, new products and consumer questions and issues.
