    THE PET EMERGENCY AND SPECIALTY CENTER OF MARIN (WWW.PESCM.COM) is looking for Full Time Client Service Representative/Veterinary Assistant to join our Ophthalmology department! This is a perfect position for that client service expert who has always wanted to work hands on with the patients!

    ABOUT THE JOB: PESCM has partnered with Animal Eye Care and operates a very busy department inside our practice in San Rafael. The department is currently Tuesday and Wednesday but will be adding on a Thursday shift in the New Year, with the eventual plan to run Monday- Thursday. This position requires stellar client service in addition to hand’s on with the patients. While no animal handling experience is required, you must be comfortable with patient contact as this is an expectation of the position. We will train you!  While this position is currently PT in this department, we can offer FT hours.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Welcome our clients in a friendly, helpful, and compassionate manner
    • Prepare and review documents and medical records accurately and completely
    • Educate and advise clients regarding Animal Eye Care services and practices
    • Process appointments, emergencies, and client requests while ensuring the highest quality of care and satisfaction for our clients at all times
    • Process admissions and discharges accurately; schedule follow up appointments as necessary
    • Process invoices and payments accurately
    • Assist with other administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, and emailing
    • Restrain pets for exams and procedures with the nurses and doctor
    • Learn to perform specific eye testing such as tear test, pressure checks, and staining
    • Set up and break down the OR after surgeries
    • Prep and clean packs
    • Help track and put away inventory
    • Discharge patients

     

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Cultivate a positive atmosphere, demonstrate a friendly and courteous attitude with all coworkers throughout the hospital in order to maintain a cohesive work team
    • Maintain excellent communication skills in order to ensure professionalism and effectiveness in all interactions with clients and coworkers throughout the hospital
    • Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate
    • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills including learning the software systems
    • Must be organized and detail oriented to ensure efficiency and accuracy in all transactions
    • Able work in high stress situations and exercise good judgment as needed
    • Present a neat, well-groomed appearance
