What's the role?

We are seeking to support Etsy’s growth by ensuring timely and accurate reporting and a strong and sustainable internal control environment. Our goal is to contribute to Etsy at multiple levels by combining strong accounting and business senses while subscribing to Etsy’s mission and values.

Working within the Etsy Controller’s group, you will have exposure to a variety of exciting challenges. You should be passionate about juggling priorities in a dynamic and fluid organization. You will need to be attentive as well as highly organized. You should be able to approach work with the goal of constant improvement and increased efficiency. As part of the Controller’s group we also need you to be an outstanding teammate, who is willing to jump in on projects as required.

Etsy has undergone a Source to Pay (S2P) transformation which resulted in a center-led procurement model with a goal to create a compliant and frictionless end user experience for S2P governance and procedures. Our team of analysts at Etsy manages daily activities within S2P, collaborating & managing relationships with internal customers, business owners and external supplier representatives.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Procurement Manager and the base salary range will be $57,000 - $73,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Lead day to day purchasing process by: Providing operational support across requisitioning and ordering for our Product and Engineering Teams; Reviewing all requisitions and ensuring they are aligned with company policies; Ensuring all items and pricing are accurately listed on orders; Managing the creation of POs and ensuring all necessary approvals are in place; Ensuring delivery of goods and services meet internal customer needs; and partnering with sourcing team and/or suppliers to obtain quotes when competitive bids are required per policy
• Monitor the quality of the purchasing process by reviewing (QA) approved requisitions, creating effective purchase orders/statements of work (SOW), validating pricing accuracy, ensuring delivery of goods and services to meet internal customer needs, accuracy of order placement, method of shipment, and payment terms with suppliers, expediting or de-expediting POs as needed
• Champion adherence to all Purchasing policies, processes and procedures
• Maintain purchasing compliance through maximizing the use of established agreements
• Review requisitions and makes decision to pass on to sourcing specialist for sourcing initiatives
• Interact with internal customers to identify requirements and resolve issues
• Use corporate contract management tool to generate accurate contracts based on pre approved guidelines (standard templates, standard terms and conditions)

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• 2+ years experience with procurement operations, ERP, eProcurement, and eCatalog
• A solid understanding of Purchase Order processing technology and processes is required
• An in-depth understanding of the operational needs for a large company, like Etsy, with a focus on purchasing within the IT supplier based category
• Good teamwork skills to work with other departments to plan and implement deployment of the above technologies
• Strong facilitation skills to communicate and collaborate with partners across Etsy to implement purchase-to-pay processes and technologies
• Advanced problem solving skills such as active listening, the ability to analysis problems and map out possible solutions, as well as team building to help make those solutions a reality Demonstrated success in gathering data, conducting analyses, and generating high quality outputs
• Experience with process, quality control, and workflow management and design preferred
• High energy level, with a hands-on approach, and who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills, with high attention to detail
• Excel in effective and positive communications and experience in building remote relationships
• Previous experience with Coupa & Workday (or other ERP systems) is an advantage
• Understanding of leading S2P technology practices and trends preferred.
• A curiosity to learn how things work and a desire to improve them.
• Experience in a fast-growing global company. Large Tech along with contract management experience is a plus
