    Job Description

    As the Employee Communications Manager, you’ll collaborate across multiple departments to inform, encourage, and engage Etsy’s distributed team.     This is a full-time position located (eventually) in Brooklyn, NY, reporting to the Director, Strategy & Communications. We offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate work from home candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2-3 times per week.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    In this role you will:

    • Lead a wide range of projects and key communications initiatives that engage a global, company-wide audience, both live and async.
    • Partner with teams across the org to help ensure their communications to broad employee audiences are clear, effective, and consistent with our overall communication strategy and messaging.
    • Guide company leaders on how to efficiently lead and communicate through change.
    • Support the planning and execution of company-wide meetings, including Y’all Hands, our all-company town hall.
    • Lead our company-wide intranet, the IntraKnit, with ongoing responsibility for content strategy and management, as well as platform improvements with our IT team.
    • Play a key role in handling the permissions and strategy of all main communications channels, including email listservs, Slack channels, and more.
    • Build, review, edit and approve company-wide communications, including emails, Slack messages, presentations, audio, video, and more.
    • Curate, edit, and distribute our weekly, company-wide newsletter, This Weeksy.
    • Support the management of our communications calendar and cadence, working with teams to pace out their communications and events to achieve efficient uptake and engagement.
    • Develop creative ways to measure the efficacy of and improve our internal communications.
    • Regularly share knowledge with internal comms counterparts at our subsidiary companies.
    • Support the other members of the S&O team on operational and communications initiatives, as needed.

    ABOUT YOU:

    Ideally you'll bring:

    • 3-5 years of professional experience in roles with a heavy focus on internal communications and branding.
    • A passion for finding new and innovative ways to connect with large, globally distributed and diverse groups of people.
    • Strong organizational skills and be adept at running multiple sophisticated projects simultaneously and independently.
    • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to tailor your style and tone based on the message, medium, and audience.
    • Outstanding poise and judgment with the skill to represent our department with a wide variety of internal partners, including senior leaders.
    • Be fastidious about details and skilled at proofreading. You are the person people come to for a final review before sending out an important email.
    • Knowledge with any or all of event production, video editing, and graphic design.
    • Excellent public speaking knowledge.
    • A team centered approach paired with a self-starter mentality.
    • Prior experience building positive relationships with a diverse group of partner teams.
    • A trust in and commitment to Etsy’s vision, mission and values.
