ABOUT THE TEAM
Etsy is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Fulfillment Platform Engineering team in Brooklyn.
The Fulfillment Platform team is part of the Core Fulfillment initiative at Etsy which is responsible for facilitating the fulfillment of orders for our sellers. The team is responsible for supporting features that allow our sellers to manage and fulfill their orders including: order management, shipping management, seller onboarding, seller shipping profiles, order searching and indexing, buyer address verification and validation, and pre-calculated shipping costs.
The Fulfillment Platform team works with and across the initiative to ensure both the product and the underlying technology are structurally sound and available to our users as well as the other teams within the initiative. The team is also responsible for creating and maintaining fulfillment-based infrastructures used throughout Etsy.
This role is preferably based in the Brooklyn, NY office but we will consider remote applicants as well.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Engineering Manager, you can expect to:
Lead a team of full stack engineers - playing a small part in the hands-on process of building software, but a large role in ensuring your team achieves great results.
Work with the recruiting team in the end-to-end recruiting process.
Ensure that new engineers onboard successfully and have the greatest opportunity to excel at Etsy and their careers.
Advocate for your team and engineering to raise awareness, ensure inclusion, and drive positive change.
Establish and maintain an inclusive, respectful, and diverse culture to ensure that all voices are heard.
Collaborate with teams across the initiative and the organization to ensure cohesion across projects and roadmaps.
Work closely with diverse stakeholders across product, design, and analytics to ensure that your team is delivering value for internal and external users.
Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for your team.
Qualifications
You will do well in this role if you:
Can facilitate technical decision-making across multiple technical landscapes, having passion for the technical aspects of your work, but can let engineers drive the details.
Know how to apply processes judiciously to improve, rather than hamper, the team’s productivity.
Have the ability to make data driven decisions in the face of ambiguous or changing priorities and goals.
Can explore and assess needs from a high level perspective and make decisions based on the data available.
Can collaborate with cross-disciplinary stakeholders with varying goals to achieve great results that satisfy all requirements.
