Job Description

Etsy is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Buyer Onboarding team. In this role you will work with a cross-functional team that is focused on helping new buyers understand what Etsy has to offer and getting them excited about coming back to purchase again.

The team is digging deeper into what motivates buyers and is maximizing tactics like interactive quizzes, showcasing listing videos, and Machine Learning datasets to encourage exploration of the site. Likewise the team also drives key “sticky” actions like downloading the Etsy app.

As an Engineering Manager at Etsy, you can expect to:

• Participate in the end-to-end recruiting process to hire and onboard a diverse, robust and capability-complete team.
• Lead teams to build great products. Engineering managers at Etsy play a small part in the hands-on process of building software, but a very large part in orchestrating engineers to achieve phenomenal results.
• Provide your team with regular feedback and direction to help them perform effectively and grow in their careers.
• Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for your team.
• Maintain and apply process for effective delivery.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams across Etsy to advocate for and inspire change on behalf of your team.
• Surface and address questions, bottlenecks, dependencies, and issues as they arise, working with stakeholders when needed.
• Partner cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and data scientists to ensure that your team is delivering high-impact work for our users.

Qualifications

• Have 3+ years of managing a team of engineers.
• You believe that people come to work to do awesome things and you derive satisfaction from helping others reach beyond what they were previously capable of.
