Etsy is looking for Data Science Interns to join our Experimentation Science Team for Summer 2021.

We are committed to advancing the fields around E-commerce by building technologies to help understand our customers and the world. We are seeking individuals passionate in areas such as Causal Inference, Experimentation Science, Causal Machine Learning and Marketplace Economics. 

What we are working on

• Causal Inference 

• Large Experiment Design and Analysis

• Quasi Experimentation

• Causal Machine Learning

• Explainability in Machine Learning

• Online and Offline Evaluation of Machine Learning Models

• Marketplace Economics including Pricing, Mechanism Design

Qualifications

• You are currently enrolled in a full-time Ph.D degree program in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, and returning to the program after the completion of the internship.

• You have familiarity and experience or are interested in publishing papers at top-tier  conferences/journals in your field.

• You have strong analytical and quantitative skills. 

• You have strong technical and programming skills. You are familiar with relevant technologies and languages (e.g. Python, R, C++, etc.). You have experience in or desire to learn Big Data technologies (e.g. BigQuery, pyspark, etc.).

• You have demonstrated the capability to review and write technical papers.

• You can contribute research that can be applied to Etsy product development.

• You have the ability to quickly prototype ideas and can solve complex problems by adapting creative approaches.

• You are a strong collaborator and communicator and you enable the engineers around you to grow and learn.
