Job Description
As the Safety & Security Specialist you will research regulations, developments, and support recommendations regarding the implementation of our health and safety protocols and policies, protecting Etsy Inc.’s employees worldwide from wherever they work. Do you have demonstrated experience researching and implementing health and safety programs and ensuring compliance with regulations globally? If so, this could be the perfect match.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Safety & Security. We are considering remote candidates based in the USA for this position. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location at least 4-6 days per month, Remote mode, and Office-based mode. Occasional travel will be required to our other regions, including internationally.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will:
Research health and safety regulations specific to each of our office locations globally.
Maintain and adapt current health and safety programs.
Collaborate closely with the Workplace teams on required health and safety updates and mandates.
Assist in developing and implementing fire safety programs and evacuation drills.
Assist in developing and implementing a workplace safety program / manual and ensure compliance with OSHA (or international equivalent) requirements.
Support the safety and security team by identifying ways to streamline processes and optimize outcomes.
Update intranet pages as needed to reflect policy changes.
Build positive relationships with business partners and SMEs across various functions (e.g., operations, finance, legal, compliance etc.).
Ensure compliance with COVID-19 mandates and guidelines in each city, state, and country where Etsy has an office. Collaborate closely with other teams on these requirements, including HR and Legal.

Qualifications
ABOUT YOU
Ideally you’ll bring:
2+ years of health and safety experience in a government or corporate environment
Experience in research and ensuring compliance
Familiarity with OSHA or international equivalent
Familiarity with analyzing and tracking data, to include COVID-19 metrics
International experience preferred, but not required
Communication and presentation skills
Ability to occasionally travel
