WHAT’S THE ROLE?
We are seeking an engineering leader to lead a team primarily building features in Etsy’s app that is used by millions of buyers all over the world. You will collaborate with teams across Etsy to identify, prioritize, scope, and implement projects that enable the growth of native apps in the marketplace. This team has a very unique mission to help teams across entire Etsy to build their features in the app and leave an outsized impact.
This is a full-time position. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the U.S. and Canada who are either remote, flex, or office-based. WHAT DOES THE DAY-TO-DAY LOOK LIKE?
Daily operations would include communicating with various teams, prioritizing engineering work, maintaining a healthy technical backlog, and delivering projects which help our partners meet their quarterly objectives.
Millions of users rely on our Etsy app and your work will be seen and used by some of Etsy’s most dedicated buyers.
Manage a team of iOS, Android, and backend engineers and serve as a coach, mentor, and advocate for the engineers on your team.
Lead the team to build great products. As a leader, you will have a limited role in the hands-on process of building software, but a very large role in orchestrating and mentoring engineers to achieve results together.
Set clear expectations for team members and provide constructive feedback.
Partner cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and analysts to prioritize, build, and deliver projects.
Define the roadmap for the team and be accountable for its execution. You will connect and coordinate business initiatives and team priorities.
Participate in the end-to-end recruiting process that includes hiring, and onboarding outstanding engineering talent.
Participate in defining and achieving Objectives and Key Results for your team.
Foster a culture of empathy, learning, and collaboration in your engineers.

Experienced in the native app, and web development, and understand what's involved.
Have experience in leading agile ceremonies and optimizing for efficiency.
Have delivered projects from inception through launch.
