    Job Description

    WHAT’S THE ROLE?

    We are seeking an experienced International Payroll Specialist to join our growing HR Operations team! 

    You’ll act as the main point of contact for both employees and external vendors regarding payroll issues, so a strong service-oriented approach and a high sense of urgency are essential. Are you forward thinking and analytical with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of international payroll regulations? If so, this could be an excellent match.

    This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Payroll and the base salary range will be $70,000 - $90,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based.     WHAT DOES THE DAY-TO-DAY LOOK LIKE?

    • Coordinate day-to-day global payroll operations for our EMEA & India payrolls. 
    • Maintain payroll sheets with changes that will be submitted to each vendor monthly for payroll processing.
    • Work closely with accounting teams to make sure payroll is funded accurately each month.
    • Build positive relationships to ensure successful partnerships within the People team and other teams providing expertise on payroll matters.
    • Support annual filing requirements and any audits.
    • Act as lead point of contact for international payroll related inquiries.
    • Support implementation of a new global payroll vendor, providing standard methodology, and supporting discovery sessions with key partners.
    • Guarantees adherence with country, wage, and hour laws and standard processes as well as ensuring SOX compliance.
    • Serve as back up to our Global Payroll associate.

    Qualifications

    QUALITIES THAT WILL HELP YOU THRIVE IN THIS ROLE ARE:

    • A minimum of 2 years of international payroll experience
    • A confirmed understanding of payroll processes and country laws pertaining to payroll and payroll tax administration
    • US payroll processing experience a plus
    • Experience scaling payroll systems and procedures for a fast-growing global organization, with a proven track record of successful project management.
    • Experience supporting a global payroll implementation a plus
    • Experience working in a Public Company and Sox Compliance.
    • Proficiency with data analysis and Microsoft Excel & Google sheets
    • Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
    • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, is flexible, enjoys working with other teams and is deadline driven.
