Job Description
We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our Strategic Finance group. You will support the success of efforts at Etsy by providing critical analysis and insights to drive business decisions. Our group has a business partner philosophy and structure, where each member is aligned with a key part of Etsy’s business -- in this case, the Product Organization.
As the Finance Analyst, Product you will be responsible for providing strategic advice to partners across functional boundaries, based on robust financial modeling and analysis. Understanding and communicating the drivers behind key business trends is another key responsibility. Do you find joy in using data to influence investment decisions? This is a full-time position located (eventually) in Brooklyn, NY reporting to the Director of Product Analytics & Strategic Finance. We offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate work from home candidates who are comfortable traveling to an office location 2-3 times per week.
ABOUT THE ROLE In this role you will:
Analyze financial and operational trends, and articulate their business impact
Arm business leaders with data needed to make strong business decisions by helping them interpret analyses, measure progress against goals, and understand the return on investment in new and existing services
Own key parts of forecast model preparation, maintenance, and quality control
Dig deeply into trends in Key Performance Indicators and their underlying drivers and root causes. Use this information to propose business investment opportunities
Collaborate with FP&A colleagues to produce regular reviews for the Executive Team and Board of Directors
Contribute to special products such as assessing the financial and strategic implications of potential product improvements, new products, or new businesses

Qualifications
ABOUT YOU Ideally you'll bring:
2+ years of finance experience, including experience in financial planning, business analysis, investment banking or related, with proven understanding of financial modeling and analysis tools
An ideal candidate has participated in the budgeting and forecasting process and enjoys a continuous planning environment
Outstanding academic record and exceptional work ethic
Thrives when working in a collaborative and highly charged environment
Mastery of Microsoft Office or Google Docs (Excel/Sheets and Powerpoint/Slides) is required
Experience with SQL, or strong desire to learn
Firm grasp of GAAP; familiarity with e-Commerce and technology is a plus
Experience with Looker, Workday Financial Management, or Host Analytics is also a strength
