    WHAT’S THE ROLE?

    Etsy is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our ML Orchestration team which is part of the Machine Learning Initiative under the Enablement engineering organization.     As the Manager on the ML Orchestration Team, you will be responsible for closely collaborating with your product partner to drive the technical roadmap for our Machine Learning Orchestration systems, powering the foundational layers of search, recommendations, and ads for our marketplace. You will work to expand orchestration to other internal clients at Etsy like Trust and Safety, Payments or Fulfillment. We work closely with product teams and platform site reliability engineers to deliver a robust and scalable system to serve our 100+ million listings to our buyers.

    This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the base salary range will be 182,000 - 236,000 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the U.S. who are either remote, flex, or office-based. Etsy offers different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team.      WHAT’S THIS TEAM LIKE AT ETSY?

    • The Machine Learning Enablement Initiative builds and maintains Machine Learning systems that help all Etsy customers quickly resolve issues through intuitive self-service tools and human, real support experiences. The Orchestration group builds and maintains the application that powers our Search, Ads and Recommendations systems.

    WHAT DOES THE DAY-TO-DAY LOOK LIKE?

    • On a day to day basis you will be responsible for the development process and the delivery of the goals.
    • Serve as a coach, mentor and technical advisor to your direct reports.
    • Define and execute your team’s long-term strategy and quarterly roadmap. Establish and drive OKRs that clearly define the goals and success metrics for your team.
    • Partner with your product manager to create a technical roadmap aligned with the product's strategy.
    • Attract, hire, and retain an amazing team of high-caliber machine learning engineers and nurture their career growth through effective coaching and mentorship.
    • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous delivery on your teams.
    • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering and Data Science teams to facilitate project planning and execution.

    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
