Job Description
Etsy is looking for a Strategy & Operations Manager to lead operational excellence and strategy development for Etsy's Finance Org, led by our Chief Finance Officer. This role is part of the broader Strategy & Operations team for Finance, Legal and Internal Operations. The Finance Org provides vital functions that support the accountability, efficiency and engagement of our marketplace-facing teams.
This role will define and be responsible for handling critical internal operations and communications initiatives that help these functions stay aligned and focused. A successful candidate is defined by their track-record and heart for applying industry-proven and emergent approaches that empower teams to collaborate to deliver value to their end customers.
This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Sr Manager of Strategy & Operations for Finance, Legal & PSS. The Executive Sponsor of this role is our CFO, along with her direct reports.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to transition from a traditional Finance role into a role that also includes strategy-setting, process design, internal communications, and group facilitation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will:
Design, operate and iterate the systems, processes and artifacts that enable strategy and goal setting, decision-making, and execution on predictable cadences for the Finance teams
Support the CFO’s leadership meetings (weekly and quarterly) by ensuring that objectives are clear, decisions are made, discussion materials are prepared, in partnership with her EA
Lead the orgs’ internal communications, including strategy for newsletters and important emails, reports and presentations, all hands, and the information platforms where orgs’ information is shared, in partnership with the CFO’s EA
Work with Strategic Finance to drive our quarterly operating planning process, including supervising and prioritizing headcount and OPEX investments
Work with our HRBP and Talent Acquisition partners to review and prioritize open roles
Lead special initiatives commissioned by the CFO that will improve how their orgs operate, e.g. launch org-level new hire onboarding, org-specific trainings and workshops, or support specific parts of integration
Build credibility and establish rapport with people at multiple levels, from the C-suite to the team level, within and outside of Finance
Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.
