    GIBL is actively seeking applicants who are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs to fill three (3) Eureka! Summer Associates. The Eureka! Summer Associate is a f ull-time, paid summer internship at a rate of $18.50 per hour. These temporary roles will provide essential program support to GIBL between July 7 - August 15, 2025. Work hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Internships are temporary work assignments and are not eligible to participate in the organization's benefits program.

    POSITION OVERVIEW (What we're looking for )

    Eureka! is a STEM-based summer program designed to engage and empower rising 7th - 10th grade girls to see themselves in integral and impactful roles within the workforce of the future. Serving as the primary point of contact for the Eureka! participants, the Eureka! Summer Associates will be responsible for supervising Eureka! cohorts through daily classes and activities. Eureka! Summer Associates oversee a variety of exciting and compelling activities that explore the cutting-edge world of STEM through hands-on experiences in a pro-girl environment. In addition to implementing program activities during the program period, selected candidates will also receive pay for onsite work, including pre-program ( i.e., staff orientation, training, program planning, preparation time, etc. ) as well as post-program activities ( i.e., post-program meeting, reporting requirements, curriculum documentation, et c.). With complementary activities in athletics, art, healthy living, and financial literacy, Eureka! fully fosters educational, professional, and personal development.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES (What you'll be achieving)

    At a minimum, Eureka! Summer Associates will be responsible for successfully carrying out the following essential functions and duties:

    • Supervise and ensure the safety of the Eureka! participants in their cohort.
    • Provide daily overviews of day plans for their cohort and share any programmatic updates or announcements.
    • Build positive relationships with cohorts and encourage their engagement in classes and activities.
    • Track daily attendance of the girls in your class.
    • Assist with other components of Eureka! including activities and field trips.
    • Assist Eureka! special events, including parent/member orientation, Eureka-a-thon field day, and graduation.
    • Implement program evaluations to contribute to the final assessment report.
    • Participate in all pre-Eureka staff trainings, regular weekly meetings, and a final debrief meeting.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Middle School Program Manager.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (What you'll bring along)

    Education : Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably pursuing educational coursework or a professional degree in science, math, engineering, and/or technology, or athletics.

    Experience : Prior experience in classroom instruction, group facilitation, and/or other experiences having worked with youth--preferably girls--and/or urban youth ages 12-15.

    Qualifications : To be optimally successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • Strong interest in gender equity and an understanding of the importance of promoting science, math, engineering, and/or technology, with girls.
    • Demonstrated ability to be professional, creative, innovative, and flexible.
    • Capacity to be available to work all dates of the program, including all pre-program training and meetings as well as the post-program meeting.
    • Ability to create a safe, welcoming, inclusive, supportive, and creative pro-girl environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications or similar web applications for day-to-day office administration tasks.
