Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for a Summer Intern - Research Technician to work in Sanger, CA.

SUMMER INTERN – RESEARCH TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

• General farm maintenance
• Sample collection and documentation
• Set up and maintenance of research plots
• Assist with trial applications, including calibration of equipment and application parameters
• Documentation of plot maintenance, irrigation, environmental conditions and crop conditions
• Other work-related tasks as assigned
• General knowledge of farming operations
• Ability to operate farm equipment, including tractors and spray equipment
• Ability to perform farm operations, including planting, maintenance and harvest of agricultural commodities
• Ability to read and understand US and metric measurements
• Ability to tend to details
• Travel may be required
• Training of Good Laboratory Practice Standards will be provided

Qualifications

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS:

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent. Also includes students on path to receiving high school diploma with appropriate work authorization
• Valid driving license
• Work involves standard laboratory and field settings, with ability to operate farm and laboratory equipment
• Aware of, and observe, appropriate health and safety precautions associated with one’s normal activities and ensure subordinates’ compliance as well
• Required to frequently stand; walk; and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Assistance should be sought for a weight over amount employee is physically able to carry.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm, with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Sanger, CA are encouraged to apply..
