Full-Time Waste Lab Technician
Job Description
WASTE DISPOSAL TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
· Packages expired chemicals for shipment or disposal.
· Empties satellite containers into bulk containers and takes back to laboratory for reuse.
· Maintains chemical storage area to keep it clutter-free and free of fire hazards.
· Ships hazardous waste from the laboratory prior to the RCRA time limit for the facility.
· Tracks volume of waste generated for reporting to corporate and EPA.
· Prepares and tracks implementation of Waste Minimization Plan.
· Orders and maintains chemical inventory for the laboratory.
· Manages consignment room to keep all laboratory areas supplied.
· Maintains company vehicles.
· Provides assistance to other departments/areas as needed.
Qualifications
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS:
· Ability to work in a chemical environment
· Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
· Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
· Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information
Position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply.
