    Research Associate I in vivo

    POSITION LOCATION:

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The successful candidate for the Research Associate I position will join the Beacon Discovery team with a multifaceted approach for providing high value services based on the Beacon Discovery platform and other proprietary technologies. The position provides an outstanding opportunity to learn new techniques and develop skills within a dynamic in vivo pharmacology research team. We work with multiple animal models, from anxiety to metabolism and beyond. If you are interested in working in a fast paced, challenging environment where you will have an opportunity to learn and succeed this may be the place for you. Laboratory experience with animal handling and pharmacology studies would be advantageous but is not necessary. Extensive training will be provided.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform rodent based in vivo pharmacology studies including animal handling, dosing, and observation. 
    • Assist in designing and carrying out studies from initial planning through data analysis and documentation. 
    • Perform complementary in vitro assays such as ELISAs
    • Work independently and communicate efficiently with management
    • Work effectively in a team setting and enjoy collaboration with others
    • Perform tests accurately and document work clearly and completely
    • Conducts all laboratory activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (BMQ):

    0-2 years of related academic or industry experience working with rodents.. 

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE (BMQ):

    Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related discipline required. 

    ABILITY AND/OR SKILLS (BMQ):

    •Experience with rodent handling is recommended (a definite plus)

    •Must be detailed-orientated and consistent in experimental approach.

    •Must be team-oriented and excited about working with other scientists.

    •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
