Job Description

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST (CLS) AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Perform laboratory testing, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration of equipment, quality control procedures and ensuring the validity of test results.
• Perform Laboratory assays in accordance with Eurofins VRL standard operating procedures
• Operate, calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment and instruments according to standard operating procedures to ensure quality results
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies, reagents and materials
• Accept or reject test results in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Document remedial action, troubleshooting, quality assurance activities and instrument maintenance
• Adhere to established processing timelines
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards
• Screening of organ and tissue donors
• Blood banking (A, B, O, and Rh blood typing), chemistry, and molecular testing
• Specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results
• Entering results of testing accurately and reviewing reports to monitor accurate reporting of results
• Documenting corrective actions when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
• Answers phones and assists clients with their inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner

• Analytical judgment, problem solving skills, and accuracy
• Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs

Qualifications

• BS or BA in biological, physical, chemical, clinical laboratory science or an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
• 1-2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred
• MUST BE LICENSED BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AS A CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST 
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Friday through Monday from 9:00 pm - 7:30 am, with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Los Angeles, CA are encouraged to apply.
