Job Description

Eurofins Test America is searching for a Wet Chemistry Analyst I in Knoxville, TN.

The Analyst I prepare and analyze environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with Eurofins Eurofins Eurofins TestAmerica’s Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s.

THE WET CHEMISTRY ANALYST I RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

GENERAL:

·         Demonstrate and promote the company vision

·         Exhibit regular attendance and punctuality

·         Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner

·         Perform job functions in compliance with Eurofins TestAmerica’s EHS and QA standards

·         Maintain good housekeeping in his/her work area

·         Work under close supervision while training

·         Ensure work area and all equipment is kept organized, neat and clean

·         Perform other duties as assigned

TECHNICAL:

·         Prepare and analyze samples for various parameters following standard operating procedures based on EPA and ASTM methods

·         Prepare analytical standards of liquids by dilution

·         Calculate data within chromatographic data systems and manually

·         Record and report data within laboratory information system

·         Analyze samples using ion chromatography

·         Document Non-conformance Memos (NCMs) and notify PM and supervisor

·         Perform routine instrument maintenance

·         Performs other duties as assigned

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS:

·         Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts

·         Ability to complete work within time and quality constraints

·         Can work independently following written or verbal instructions

·         Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing

·         Able to follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines:

         Wet Chemistry

          Undergraduate Physical Chemistry

          High Resolution preparation and analysis

          Low Resolution preparation and analysis

Willingness to work with acids, bases or chemical waste samples, (operational controls are in place and personal protective equipment appropriate to the job is provided).

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Knoxville, TN are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years laboratory experience may substitute for degree.

·         Laboratory experience is a plus

·         Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)

·         Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
