    This position serves as an entry level internship position working in the PLM, TEM and IAQ departments. Internship is a full time temporary position with the potential to extend part time through the school year. Intern will assist all areas of the laboratory with administrative and basic laboratory tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to cleaning and maintenance of equipment, sample handling and login, sample preparation, and general administrative tasks.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Regular attendance and punctuality

    · Assist with quality control administrative tasks

    · Receive customer correspondence and direct the information to the appropriate personnel

    · Prepare samples for analysis

    · Log in client samples

    · Stock laboratory supplies

    · Maintain, clean and prepare glassware and other laboratory equipment

    · Assist with special projects as needed

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

    Salary Range: $16-18 an hour with flexible work schedule to fit class time.

    Education/Experience (BMQ):

    Pursing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in physical or life science.

    Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):

    •Strong computer, scientific, organizational and problem-solving skills

    •Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, and a positive attitude

    •Handle moderate stress

    •Detail oriented

    •Ability to follow instructions and comply with SOPs

    •Effective communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

    •Adaptability to work in varying laboratory environments
