    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
    • Regular attendance and punctuality
    • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
    • Organizes, conducts and evaluates analytical results and testing independently and in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs and regulatory agency guidelines
    • Documents work and maintains study documentation and laboratory records
    • Independently uses and performs basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and software appropriate for assigned tasks, while performing routine and non-routine maintenance
    • Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work
    • Performs peer review and QC review of data
    • Performs assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively completes multiple assignments.
    • Promotes and contributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains a positive attitude.  Plans individual workload in coordination with team members.
    • Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment
    • Understands data generated, and history of methods.
    • Recognizes deviations from normal results and inform Technical Manager, Principal Investigator, and/or management of any problems and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data and participates in corrective action of problems.
    • Identifies problems, determines appropriate actions, and implements solutions with support or independently as appropriate.
    • Able to adapt to new procedures or particular needs as directed.
    • Able to identify critical steps in an assay.
    • Drives and implements process improvement initiatives
    • Completes all required training courses.
    • Trains and assists less experienced staff
    • Assists in setting up and performing optimization and validation of various analytes in a variety of matrices
    • Assists in writing reports, methods, protocols and SOPs, and make suggestions for modifications in test methods and procedures.
    • Knowledge of departmental procedures and policies
    • Effectively plans and utilizes personnel and resources for timely completion of assigned projects
    • May plan, monitor, or guide non-routine work within their team
    • Viewed as a resource across multiple teams
    • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
    • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required

      ·         3 - 4  years Analytical Chemistry experience

      ·         2+ Years LCMS experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Laboratory experience may be substituted for degree)

    • Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment

    • Experience with use and troubleshooting of analytical equipment is desired

    • Basic knowledge of computers and software programs.

    • Chromatography Data systems (Empower, Chromeleon, Etc…)

    • LIMS experience preferred but not required.

    • May work with potentially hazardous substances and/or radio labeled materials

    • Mandatory immunizations and screening as required

    • Expected to understand the process for handling hazardous wastes and receive on-the-job training for handling specific waste types in their job area.

    •  Will be exposed to food allergens (ex. Milk, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, etc.)

    • Work requires some standing and sitting for long periods of time, including working within a laboratory hood and standing at a bench top.

    • Work requires use of PPE (personal protective equipment)

    • Overtime and weekend work as required

    • Will be exposed to potential food allergens.

    Additional Information

    Position is full-time, Monday-Friday 2nd shift - 2:30pm - 11:30pm ., with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Brea, CA are encouraged to apply.
