Job Description

• Testing on raw materials, in-process, product, stability, and/or research samples
• Data generation, documentation of test results, completion of test records, and review of data
• Review of test results to ensure compliance with standards; reports any quality anomalies
• Calibration of instruments/devices prior to use, and/or verification of calibration thereof
• Performance of essential operational laboratory activities such as maintaining laboratory supplies
• Writing and revision of control test procedures and SOPs
• Devise or develop new analytical methods and techniques as needed
• Assistance in method transfer/validation from R&D as needed
• Compliance with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements
• Ensures compliance with SOPs; reports any quality or other anomalies
• Participates in required training activities

Qualifications

• Requires a BS/BA in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related field with 0-2 years of relevant scientific industry experience.
• Relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries may be considered in lieu of educational requirements
• Preferred knowledge in, but not required, Biochemistry/chemistry methods, such as ELISA, PCR, capillary electrophoresis, HPLC, particulate analysis and compendial tests
• Good record-keeping skills and understanding of GDP
• Thrive working in a fast-paced environment and can multitask
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Biochemistry/chemistry background
• Statistical software skills
• Have a keen eye for detail
• Can perform tasks within appropriate timeframes while maintaining accuracy

Additional Information

Position is full-time, 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
