Job Description

BIOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING :

·         Providing technical leadership of Effector Function Testing for Biologics

·         Performing cell-based assays to support preclinical development of molecules

·         Responsible for timely delivery & documentation of assay data and provide support for authoring study reports

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS :

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

· Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep timely and accurate records, follow instructions, ability to identify and implement operational and organizational improvements, and comply with company policies and GLP processes, while delivering the highest standard of quality data

· Biology experience including, but not limited to, the following:  Mammalian cell culture techniques and cell-based assay development

· Experience with ELISAs, luciferase reporter assays, and flow cytometry is desired

· Additional preference include:  Transient and/or stable cell line generation, experience with automation of cell-based assays on Hamilton Liquid Handler, Characterizing protein structure and function using various biochemical/biophysical approaches such as SPR, Characterizing protein:protein interactions

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology, immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major) with 5 year minimal research experience or M.S. with 3 year research experience

· Experience with mammalian cell culture and in performing cell-based assays

· Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to Indianapolis, IN are encouraged to apply.
