Job Description

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a Scientific Operations Support - Molecular Biology in San Diego, CA to provide leading edge support to clone and express high quality proteins and antibodies.

EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assist in all aspects of high throughput molecular biology and cell culture to enable cloning and expression of proteins and antibodies in mammalian cell cultures
• Perform basic Molecular Biology techniques such as PCR, plasmid purification, restriction digests and recombination-based cloning
• Utilize complex integrated liquid handling platforms to independently perform high-throughput mammalian cell transfections
• Interact productively with the antibody discovery, protein engineering and purification groups

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS:

• Strong skills in aseptic techniques and tissue culture are a must
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team setting are essential
• Familiarity with the NGS procedures on the MiSeq preferred
• Experience in the operation of high throughput liquid handlers (Biomek, Tecan, or Hamilton) is desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, and record keeping skills, with strong attention to detail required
• Ability to follow procedures reliably and consistently and ability to  recognize and elevate relevant issues as appropriate
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or other related degree concentration
• 0-2 years of related experience
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of South San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.
