    Europa Village Wineries and Resort is looking to fill the position of Senior Catering and Conference Services Manager. The ideal candidate will have a positive, motivating, and energetic personality, and able to lead a team to success. They must be able to think quickly on their feet, have a realistic perspective, and maintain calmness under pressure.     Director of Food and Beverage

    Responsibilities Specific to Senior Catering and Conference Services Manager:

    Possesses and lives Europa Village core values.

    Secures, plans and executes all catering function specifics.

    Sells and promotes weddings, private banquets, social events, and member related activities.

    Maintains thorough knowledge of Europa Village’s story, services, facilities, and plans for expansion. Uses this information to book weddings and other events.

    Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics, which inspire Villagers to exceed expectations.

    Works closely with the Director of Food and Beverage on annual budgets for the Catering department.

    Reviews budget monthly to ensure the department is meeting goals.

    Manages the administrative and operational aspects of the Catering department.

    Assists in developing and implementing policies specific to the Catering department.

    Recruits, hires, mentors, and trains talented Villagers.

    Structures the training agenda for new Banquet and Catering team members.

    Ensures Banquet and Catering teams executes plan for a successful event.

    Plans, organizes, and implements unique events for the winery and Wine Club members.

    Envisions overall plan for events and weddings.

    Negotiates with vendors to price each event and assesses profitability of each event.

    Prepares correspondence to include proposals, letters, ‘thank you’ notes, BEO’s, contracts, and follow-up.

    Generates new clients by calling, networking, and using social media.

    Works with sales managers to prepare pre/post-convention meetings.

    Supports Group Sales Team by assisting with the planning and execution of all group related functions.

    Accurately communicates with Department Heads all necessary event details including reserved spaces, time of events and conferences, to ensure minimal impact on operations.

    Maintains a good working relationship with all Department Heads, Villagers, and guests.

    Oversees client issues and ensures effective and long-term problem resolution.

    Conducts post-evaluations of each event and reports the successes and the concerns to the team to improve the Catering department.

    Works with Group Sales on menu planning.

    Works with Executive Chef on special menu planning and preparations.

    Develops relevant industry relationships as well as maintains relationships with existing key clients and vendors.

    Nurtures a positive working environment.

    Works to stay current on event themes, guest service, sales, and supervisory procedures and practices.

    Accurately and efficiently operates the POS systems.

    Updates, manages, and maintains AMADEUS.

    Answers phone calls, takes reservations, and responds to emails in a timely manner.

    Understands the Société Memberships and assists with sell of memberships.

    Other duties as assigned.
