    Banquet Manager Reports to:

    Director of Food & Beverage

    Position Overview:

    The Banquet Manager for Europa Village will provide hands-on direction, leadership, and support for the day-to-day Banquet Department. By aligning with our core values, strategic goals and objectives, this individual will work closely with multiple department heads, managers, and supervisors across the property. This is a highly dynamic role that will manage and support a large staff of up to 30 team members. The ideal candidate will have a passion for service with a motivating and energetic personality. Strong leadership skills are essential and prior Banquet Management experience is required.

    This is an exempt position with a Company that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. A successful candidate must be available and willing to work and respond to calls as needed outside of regular business hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays.

    Required Experience and Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree preferred with consideration given for recent and relevant experience.

    1 to 3 years of prior experience managing a banquet department with 20+ employees.

    Prior experience updating and implementing standard operating procedures.

    Experience managing departmental timekeeping and payroll – knowledge of ADP Payroll services a plus.

    Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

    Responsibilities Specific to Banquet Manager:

    Possess and live the Europa Village core values.

    Hires, trains, develops, mentors, rewards, and disciplines employees.

    Facilitate a diverse and inclusive culture based on Company values and standards.

    Ensures training programs are implemented and measured regularly.

    Support all safety policies and procedures.

    Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications.

    Reviews Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) on a daily basis, updates and communicates any changes.

    Ensures all functions are set and team is prepared and organized before the required time on the BEO.

    Inspects table place settings, including table linen, china, glass, silverware and condiments for correct placement and ensures each element is clean, undamaged and attractive.

    Monitors banquet team members to ensure all operating procedures are followed.

    Supervises clearing and post event clean-up.

    Supervises the handling, storage, maintenance, and security of all catering service equipment.

    Remains alert of complaints and/or unsatisfied guests and responds appropriately to ensure guest satisfaction.

    Meticulously plans events with banquet captains and leads to ensure execution is achieved at the highest level.

    Meets regularly with Catering Manager, Catering Director, Sales Manager, and the Director of Food and Beverage to continuously evaluate strategies and ideas for enhancements to benefit the guest experience.

    Reviews scheduling and labor needs to meet guests' needs while maximizing efficiency.

    Prepares summaries and reports for each event.

    Other duties as directed.

    Helps to ensure the facility, property and grounds are maintained to Europa Village standards.

    Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

    This is a physically demanding job and a successful candidate must be able to push and pull, stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

    Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service Certifications are required.

    Must have full schedule flexibility and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
