    Europa Village Wineries and Resort is looking to fill the position of Director of Catering. The ideal candidate will have a positive, motivating, and energetic personality, and able to lead a team to success. They must be able to think quickly on their feet, have a realistic perspective, and maintain calmness under pressure. Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the wedding industry.     Responsibilities Specific to Director of Catering:

    Possesses and lives Europa Village core values.

    Sells and promotes weddings, private banquets, social events, and member related activities.

    Maintains thorough knowledge of Europa Village’s story, services, facilities, and plans for expansion. Uses this information to book weddings and other events.

    Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics, which inspire Villagers to exceed expectations.

    Proactively solicits and manages catering related opportunities to drive and achieve personal and team-related revenue goals.

    Works closely with the Director of Food and Beverage on annual budgets for the Catering department.

    Reviews budget monthly to ensure the department is meeting goals.

    Manages the administrative and operational aspects of the Catering department.

    Assists in developing and implementing policies specific to the Catering department.

    Recruits, hires, mentors, and trains talented Villagers.

    Ensures Catering teams executes plan for a successful event.

    Works closely with the Special Events Manager to plan, organize, and implement unique events for the winery and Wine Club members.

    Envisions overall plan for events and weddings.

    Negotiates with vendors to price each event and assesses profitability of each event.

    Generates new clients by calling, networking, and using social media.

    Works with sales managers to prepare pre/post-convention meetings.

    Supports Group Sales Team by assisting with the planning of all group related functions.

    Maintains a good working relationship with all Department Heads, Villagers, and guests.

    Oversees client issues and ensures effective and long-term problem resolution.

    Conducts post-evaluations of each event and reports the successes and the concerns to the team to improve the Catering department.

    Works with Executive Chef on special menu planning and preparations.

    Develops relevant industry relationships as well as maintains relationships with existing key clients and vendors.

    Works to stay current on event themes, guest service, sales, and supervisory procedures and practices.

    Accurately and efficiently uses all operating systems.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
