    Shelter Relief Staff (Specifically Nights, Overnights, Weekends) EVA Center - Boston, MA 02215 $15 an hour - Part-time The EVA Center is a survivor-led exit program that offers respectful, long-term, holistic, comprehensive exit services for women wanting out of sexual exploitation (prostitution/trafficking). We are a growing project that is currently expanding needed emergency housing options as well as challenging public perceptions and knowledge of the many socio-economic and situational factors contributing to womens and girls entry into the sex trade. This position requires problem-solving and a high degree of sensitivity to confidential info and data and a deep commitment to the empowerment of women. Principal Duties and Responsibilities * Contribute to a safe, dignified, nonjudgmental, and welcoming home atmosphere. * Maintain the structure and policies of the program to ensure safety and security, reporting problems to supervisor; monitoring safety and security of the house. * Assess and manage emergencies accordingly to EVA Centers emergency protocol. Identify when external assistance is needed and contact the appropriate supervisor, staff, and or medical assistance. * Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. * Work as a team player with other staff of the program. * Respond to participants questions and needs. * Model appropriate personal interaction, manage crisis and de-escalate conflicts as they occur, documenting incidents. * Keeps accurate and complete records of all activities as required and notations at the end of a shift. * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, shares in staff chores. Qualifications and Requirements * Must be calm, supportive and understanding how to work with women and their children in a shelter home, experience in trauma-informed work. * Familiarity with community agencies and resources. * Ability to work with a diverse population of women, ability to be flexible and able to manage multiple projects and complex situations and work as a team member. * Assoc degree and or High School Diploma/GED with two years experience in advocacy work. * Promote an atmosphere of respect and cooperation; maintain confidentiality as per EVA Center/CMV policies. * Maintains confidentiality regarding program participants and shelter locations.
