Job Description:
GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION: Group Facilitator is to provide group therapy sessions for agency clients. Group facilitators help guide and direct client during sessions. Group notes support clinical necessity and progress toward treatment plan goals. The Group Facilitator maintains open communication lines with facility staff, attending clinicians and physicians, patients and families. This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the organization and its overall success. Must have the ability to think globally, solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Assumes responsibility of quality educational and group treatment of clients within the program through the supervision and guidance of the Program Director.
Facilitation of group sessions clients’ behavior and reaction to educational groups.
Preparing appropriate groups according to the needs of the clients.
Participation in community meetings, in-service training and business/clinical team meetings as assigned.
Assumes responsibility for learning and professional development needs.
Maintains and updates all necessary educational requirements to keep all credentialing current.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking

· Proficiency in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel and customized databases.
· Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director.
Comprehensive understanding of group skills, facility safety, and also have a working knowledge of program standards as established by state licensing and accrediting bodies. Knowledge of documentation standards, along with excellent written and verbal skills
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift 25 pounds
· Must be able to ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs throughout the course of a normal workday.
· Occasionally required to stand and walk.
Certificates and Licenses:
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
· CPR and First Aid
· Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in sociology or psychology
· Two Years of experience working in substance abuse
· Employment contingent upon clear fingerprint and criminal history record.
