    THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite is looking for an experienced PR professional who loves media relations and storytelling to join our growing global communications team. In 2020, Eventbrite went from ticketing music venues to COVID-19 vaccinations. The global pandemic impacted the in-person events industry in big ways, but we met the challenges head on. We rolled up our sleeves and got to work to help event organizers navigate one of the most disruptive years of our lives and bring people together in new and different ways. As a result, we hosted more than four million events on Eventbrite in 2020, a third of which were virtual. We’re a stronger, more focused company than ever before and if there’s one thing we’ve learned through this past year, it’s that our mission of bringing the world together through live experiences remains invaluable to consumers and event creators alike. We’re ready and eager to help people around the world start to gather in-person again, and we’re looking for someone who’s just as excited as we are to help Eventbrite lead the comeback of the events industry.

    THE ROLE

You will get in on the ground floor of a growing global communications team, and focus on media relations. You’ll expand and manage our U.S. data PR program, scouring the Eventbrite database to identify unique event trends and insights, craft messaging that underscores the value of Eventbrite, and find creative and fun ways to tell the stories of the hundreds of thousands of event organizers who turn to Eventbrite each year to run and grow their businesses.

    YOU WILL

Manage and execute media relations programs that drive coverage in consumer, business, trade and tech outlets, including product launches, data and customer storytelling. Leverage internal data to produce and pitch regular data-driven stories, and author posts for our press room, collaborate with regional partners for ideation and amplification.  Work with Eventbrite creators to share their stories through relevant media opportunities. Lead executive speaking and awards program, monitoring and submitting for relevant opportunities that map to business goal. Develop messaging and materials, including press room posts, press releases, Q&As, company statements, media lists, etc. Arrange, facilitate and manage media briefings, including spokesperson prep and materials development. Manage inbound media requests and speaking inquires. Help track and measure team results. Collaborate closely with marketing, data, legal and other internal departments on story development and amplification; liaise with U.S. PR agency partner and work with global PR teammates, growing your knowledge of international PR.

    The Skill Set

    • 4+ years of professional experience in public relations.
    • PR agency background preferred.
    • Strong grasp of PR fundamentals, including media relations, an eye for stories, messaging development, spokesperson prep
    • Experience with data storytelling and unafraid to dig into a spreadsheet to identify trends.
    • Consumer, business and tech media contacts.
    • Excellent communications skills, and balance of an analytical and creative mindset.
    • Proven success in building and managing relationships with press, colleagues and leadership, and creating and implementing media campaigns.
    • Strong writing and editing skills, along with the ability to prioritize, plan and execute simultaneous projects.
    • Entrepreneurial, “make it happen” attitude, motivated by results, and ready to jump in and help Eventbrite own the rebirth of the events industry.
