Events Operations Associate - Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center
Do you enjoy hands-on work, behind-the-scenes excellence, and helping bring unforgettable events to life? The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Event Operations Associate to join our year-round Events team in beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine.
In this highly operational role, you'll work under the direction of the Event Operations Lead to prepare, execute, and break down events ranging from weddings and corporate meetings to large-scale celebrations. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, teamwork, and creating polished, guest-ready spaces—often without being in the spotlight.

Schedule: Full-Time, Year-Round
Shifts: Vary and may include early mornings, late nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Overtime: May be available based on operational needs

Set up and break down event spaces according to approved floor plans and timelines
Safely move and position tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, podiums, décor, and event equipment
Assist with event-day execution to ensure spaces are clean, safe, functional, and guest-ready
Support room transitions and maintain event spaces before, during, and after events
Assist vendors, clients, and internal teams with load-in and load-out as directed
Provide courteous and professional support to guests and event partners
Assist with basic setup and operation of in-house audio-visual equipment (microphones, speakers, lighting, presentation equipment)
Help troubleshoot minor AV issues and escalate concerns to the Event Operations Lead as needed
Maintain clean, organized storage areas and report missing, damaged, or unsafe equipment
Follow all safety procedures, keeping walkways clear and equipment placed securely
Report facility, maintenance, or safety concerns promptly to the Event Operations Lead
Collaborate closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and event teams to ensure seamless execution
Perform other duties as assigned to support successful events
Ability to safely lift, move, and set up heavy furniture, staging, and event equipment (up to 65 lbs)
Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality execution
Ability to follow floor plans, diagrams, written instructions, and verbal direction
Willingness to learn and assist with basic audio-visual equipment
Strong time management, organization, and reliability
Ability to work independently while keeping leadership informed of progress and concerns
Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
Prior experience in hospitality, event operations, housekeeping, or maintenance preferred but not required
High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred
Frequent indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Exposure to noise, crowds, and fast-paced environments
Physically demanding role requiring standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling
Must be comfortable working around heavy furniture, cords, staging, and equipment
Success will be measured by accuracy of setups, adherence to safety standards, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to consistently deliver clean, polished, and guest-ready event spaces.
