    Job Description

    EvereTech is hiring a Latvia Liaison Coordinator to support the Michigan Army National Guard  (MIARNG). The Michigan Army National Guard and the Country of Latvia have worked closely together and been engaged together through the State Partnership Program (SPP) since 1994. This partnership increases the capability, readiness and lethality of both formations through the joint understanding, familiarization, and standardization of each other’s process and procedures. Both organizations achieve coordinated efforts in training and organizational improvements through the efforts of members from the organizations conducting Liaison tours of duty. High turnover and the complexity of various operations and training require continuity of this critical function.

     

    • Coordinate and facilitate between Latvian Brigade Commanders, MIARNG, the Brigade Aviation Officer (BAO) and Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) on Travelling Contact Teams (TCT) / Critical Combat Skills Development (CCSD) training for Overseas Deployment Training (ODT).

    • Provide monthly reports of unit participation status that tracks all planned training events, meetings/conferences, and Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) milestones. Report will highlight and include recommendations for areas of concern.

    • Coordinate all MIARNG and Latvian participation in USAREUR / EUCOM Exercises within the country of Latvia.

    • Coordinate and facilitate between Latvian Brigade Commanders, MIARNG, United States Army Europe (USAREUR), and European Command (EUCOM) in the development of participating units training objectives for Overseas Deployment Training (ODT).

    • Track training objectives by participating unit. Translate and provide consolidated tracker 48 hours prior to JELC events for senior leadership to reference.

    • Coordinate ODT’s from MIARNG to Latvia and Latvia to MIARNG.

    • Coordinate and facilitate between Latvian Brigade Commanders, MIARNG, United States Army Europe (USAREUR), and European Command (EUCOM) for participating units resource requirements during Overseas Deployment Training (ODT)

    • Be familiar with upcoming Overseas Deployment for Training (ODT) opportunities between Michigan and Latvia such as Summer Shield, Hybrid Sword, Northern Strike, Defender, and Saber Strike, provide effective coordination for the training.

    MANDATORY EXPERIENCE: 

    • MUST HAVE A SECRET CLEARANCE

    • Recent understanding (within the last 5 years) of the Latvian Armed Forces (LAF) to include detailed knowledge in: Task Organization, Geography of associated units, Unit commanders and personnel.

      • Understanding of NATO Enhanced Forward Presence (EFP) and how it is Task & Purpose nests within the Country Plan.

      • Knowledge of the Department of State country plan for Latvia.

      • Understanding of the European Command plan for Latvia.

    • Experience working with the following agencies within Latvia:

      • LVA Ministry of Defense, Latvia National Armed Forces, US Embassy – Riga, Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC), EUCOM, USAREUR, Regional Aligned Forces (RAF), 1RAF Aviation Units, 4ID / 1ID MCE, 173rd ABN BDE, (NATO Force Integration Units) NFIU, Canadian Embassy – Riga, NATO EFP, Task Force (TF) Latvia, Michigan Air and Army National Guard, Special Operations Command (SOCOM), West Virginia Air and Army National Guard, Strategic Command (STRATCOM), US Army Air Force (USAFE), Marine Forces Europe (MARFOREUR)
