The Roofing and Siding Job Supervisor Intern oversees projects to ensure high-quality installations and earn customers' referrals. The intern manages work crews to verify that they follow construction and safety guidelines, use materials and equipment efficiently, and complete projects according to Evergreen's standards. The intern also performs administrative tasks associated with job site management. Job Duties Major areas of responsibility for the Roofing and Siding Job Supervisor Intern include job site management, administrative coordination, and quality assurance. Specific duties include the following: Job Site Management - Visit job sites to monitor crews' performance, ensure safety procedures are followed, and identify and prevent potential problems - Enforce proper tear-off protection - Perform yard clean up detail (very critical) - ENSURE THAT CREWS DO NOT PUT LADDERS ON GUTTERS - Make sure crews are meeting established responsibilities for roofing installation Administrative Coordination - Manage all will calls; verify crews' need for materials; and document details in CRM - Enter all work activity into CRM - Manage touch points in email automation Quality Assurance - Perform final inspections at jobs sites to verify that the work is high-quality and legally-compliant Primary Objectives - Visit job sites daily to oversee work crews - Confirm proper tear-off protection for all jobs - Ensure that jobs are completed within established time frames - Ensure thorough yard clean up for all jobs - ENSURE THAT CREWS DO NOT PUT LADDERS ON GUTTERS FOR ALL JOBS - Perform final inspections with 100% accuracy - Enter project activity into the CRM system daily Job Requirements - Willingness to learn and implement Evergreen's job site management procedures - Capacity to successfully supervise crews to ensure efficient work operations - Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and resolve conflicts - Ability to understand and enforce proper safety procedures - Capacity to learn applicable building codes and other relevant government regulations - Ability to identify and manage risks at job sites - Ability to report to job sites at 6:45 am Monday through Saturday - Reliable vehicle and proof of registration - Valid driver's license and safe driving record - Proof of valid car insurance - Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Required Skills - Ability to quickly learn processes and technologies - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - Good leadership skills - Meticulous attention to details - Excellent interpersonal and team-player skills - Ability to handle rude or aggressive crew members Key Attributes - Positive attitude and energetic personality - Pride of ownership in quality of work and service - Highly motivated and hardworking - Calm and confident demeanor - Assertive and persistent nature - Curiosity to grow and understand the business - Reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy Experience - Proven track record of employment for a minimum of 1 year - Proficiency with MS Office applications (knowledge of CRM software a plus) - Experience working in teams and groups - Supervisory or managerial experience a plus but not required - Experience in roofing, home improvement, or construction industries a plus but not required Education and Knowledge - At least two years of college coursework with BLANK GPA - Basic knowledge about project management, supervisory practices, and construction processes a plus but not required - College courses in business, communications, logistics, construction science, construction management, engineering, and safety procedures a plus but not required Work Environment/Physical Demands The Roofing and Siding Job Supervisor Intern works primarily in the field but also performs certain duties in the office. The intern must meet the physical demands of both work environments to successfully perform the position's key functions. - Outdoor Work Environment The intern travels to multiple job sites and may spend several hours at these sites. The intern may participate in several activities and communicate with many crew members. Walking the construction site to monitor workers' productivity and efficiency level and issuing directives for improving work are important aspects of the job. The intern is required to inspect roofing and siding on homes, carry a ladder, climb an 8/12 pitch from a ladder, and carry 25 to 50 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, carrying objects, and reaching may be required. The intern must also possess the visual acuity to inspect work crews' siding and roofing installations. - Office Environment The Evergreen office is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where multi-tasking, flexibility, and adaptability to changing priorities are essential functions. The intern may sit at a desk for long periods, repeat the same movements, frequently use a computer and telephone, and regularly operate office equipment. The intern may also encounter moderate noise levels and frequent interruptions.
