    Job Description

    This important team player manages the daily activities of the Production Planning Group, Inventory Control for the Product Services Department, and Transportation Planning Group. Manage the inventory control process for Canton/Waynesville and maintain appropriate procedures and documentation for physical inventories.  Establish and maintain the procedures for Evergreen outside warehousing, job lot sales and broke sales for paper and board.

    SPECIFIC JOB ACTIVITIES: 

    • Establish production plan that meets customer needs and maximizes operation efficiency in Canton and Waynesville.

    • Communicates with various levels of management, sales, and customers service to ensure that customer expectations are met and issues are resolved to include all service level commitments

    • Initiate and lead Supply Chain and End to End Business initiatives to improve the planning processes, proactively manage Supply Chain led projects to improve efficiency and longer term planning

    • Identify supply risks and develops mitigation plans and recommendations for corrective action to secure supply and service levels. Identify and communicate constraints that may impact achievement of the business demand

    • Train, motivate, and support planning, inventory, and transportation staff in all areas of company and departmental procedures and expectations.

    • Support month-end close and budget requirements, works closely with finance to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as identify root cause and corrective action on cost drivers and variances

    • Identifies, prioritizes, develops and implements complex cross-functional inventory control process improvement projects that include forward-thinking on project introduction/development/implementation.

    • Maintain the integrity of inventory records while following established procedures

    • Manage and provide appropriate direction and support to team members to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of inventory controls systems and procedures.

    • Provide technical assistance and inventory reports to sales, production, accounting, and other areas as needed.

    • Generate detailed cycle counts in order to provide measurable inventory results.

    • Performs inventory audits to ensure compliance to all processes and to measure effectiveness.

    • Strong analytical acumen; ability to think critically at tactical and strategic levels and understand interdependencies between demand, supply and operations.

    • Support the deployment of the demand planning process within the overall S&OP process across the manufacturing and Operations organization.

    • Establish cross-functional teams as necessary to address planning process issues that will impact service to customers or business objectives

    • Establish best practices to determine alternate planning approaches for items which are difficult to forecast using traditional techniques

    • Collaborate with Supply Chain peers to drive service and inventory risk and opportunity assessment, SKU rationalization and overall business analytics.

    • Assist in optimization of logistics and warehousing processes

    • Manage the outside warehousing material flow for the Canton Mill and Waynesville Plant.
