    Job Description

    EveryMind is hiring a full-time Grants Writer/ Development Associate for the Development and Communications Department.  This individual will work closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to identify prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship of fundraising opportunities from local, regional, and national funders. Maintains all grant opportunities and, with department members, works to develop and implement long-term relationships with grantmakers geared towards increasing grant revenue. Works closely with internal departments to both author and execute grants and reporting. Also serves in a support capacity with Development and Communications team responsible for creating and implementing public relations, marketing, and/or communications strategies; developing fundraising event plans; building and fostering relationships with constituents; planning and execution of organization’s major fundraising events. WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE? BE A PART OF THE AMAZING WORK EVERYMIND IS ACCOMPLISHING!

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Identifies/cultivates and implements corporate sponsorships and grants 

    • Develops/manages reports and recognition efforts for external partners. 

    • Seeks out, identifies, and executes new and innovative ways to develop revenue streams with existing and new corporate partners, including event sponsorships, corporate gifts, employee giving, and corporate matching programs 

    • Supports the Board and CEO as needed 

    • Assists in implementing EveryMind’s external communications to promote the mission, including press releases, social media, general appeals, annual reports, website, special events, and newsletter 

    • Works in concert with both Development and Communications Managers to maintain databases with accurate and timely data on corporate partnerships and information on funding opportunities (deadlines, eligibility, reports, contacts, etc.) 

    • Manages interns and volunteers assigned to the Department to support specific fundraising or communication activities 

    • Other duties as assigned.

     

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years’ increasingly responsible experience in fundraising and marketing and communications, or equivalent experience is required. 

    • Knowledge and/or understanding of fund development database systems. 

    • Experience with media relations and social media preferred 

    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred

     SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various constituents, including CEO, board members, volunteers, other EveryMind staff, volunteers, media, and donors.  

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and astute listening skills, including the ability to express ideas with clarity, confidence, and sensitivity 

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task as part of a fast-paced, energetic development team

    • Must be able to organize priorities according to changing circumstances in a positive, focused, and timely manner.

    • Sincere interest and commitment to the importance of mental health and well-being

     WORK LOCATION:

    • Currently, due to COVID-19, this position is primarily virtual. 
    • Once the business schedule is back to normal, the employee will be working in Rockville, MD, EveryMind Office.
