    SUMMARY:

    Report directly to the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager. The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the quality, food safety, assembling process and esthetics of the product. The QC technicians follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

    • Enforce the Plant’s Quality Assurance Program.

    • Follow and implement Good Manufacturing Policies (GMPs) and ensure that proper PPE is being worn such as mask, hairnet, smokes, sleeves and gloves.

    • Must follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

    • Follow COVID-19 Preventive Program.

    • Maintain, enforce, and inspect in-house good Housekeeping.

    • Performs, understands, troubleshoots, and provide necessary corrective actions for coding, weighing, plate assembling, topping, packing, allergen control, product control temperature.

    • Performs, understands, and troubleshoot CODE DATES inspection, label verification and traceability process. Performs, understands, troubleshoots, and provides necessary corrective actions for physical, chemical, and sensory testing.

    • Must be able to use then perform calibrations and troubleshoot of the following tools and equipment: pH Meter, Weighing Scale, Thermometer, Bio Control ATP.

    • Ensures shift pass down preparation is completed.

    • Relieves other Technicians for breaks in a timely manner and assists others as needed.

    • Daily inspection of rooms temperatures.

    It is imperative that the individual understands that both requirements for the written examination and skill audit must be met to hold the job classification of a Quality Technician annually. Failure to meet these requisites may result in removal from the job classification and/or up to disqualification from the department.

    OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBLITIES:

    • Retains, labels and stores finished product samples.

    • Participates in Safety meetings.

    • Executes swabbing techniques to validate the cleanliness of food contact surfaces and understands appropriate sanitation measures and corrective actions.

    • Responsible to collect samples as needed.

    • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

    • Bilingual - English/Spanish beneficial.

    Must be able to A qualified candidate must:

    • Self-motivated with proven leadership skills.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

    • Prior experience in work in a team environment.

    • Must have a positive attitude.

    • Must have good written and oral communication skills.

    • Ability to work in fast-paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment.

    • Flexible availability; we work night and weekend shifts

    • Must be able to understand GFSI third Party audits..

    Education and Experience

    The individual must have obtained a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and a year experience in Food Safety and Quality Control inspections.
