    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a talented Director of Supply Chain to join our team in Los Angeles. This position will report to the VP, Manufacturing & Supply Chain while also interacting with various levels of leadership within the organization. The Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for overseeing ingredient and packaging sourcing, inventory management, demand planning, purchasing, and production planning. This person will develop, implement and evaluate supply chain and purchasing strategies to build a sustainable, regenerative supply chain, drive down costs, tightly control inventory, provide the highest quality products, and scale our business. This role will work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to plan, organize and execute on strategic supply chain and purchasing initiatives from food to paper goods to packaging.

    Farm & Distributor Relationship Building (35%)

    Build direct, strong, long term relationships with farms and distributors providing ingredients and packaging to Everytable that meet Everytable’s cost, sustainability, health, culinary, and brand guidelines.

    Secure stable, low-cost pricing on all Everytable ingredients.

    Develop Key Performance Indicators and conduct supplier evaluation and negotiation to gain supplier commitment

    Work with R&D team to source ingredients and packaging for new and seasonal items.

    Competitive Buying (35%)

    Strategically develop and implement commodity strategies. Develop customized purchasing strategies and make management recommendations. Work with R&D on optimal timing to introduce and promote new products when the market is most favorable.

    Continuously seek out cost savings opportunities and leads efforts to realize those savings.

    Perform market research on the industries and future prices, conduct quantitative savings analysis and make contracting recommendations.

    Negotiate contracts with the suppliers.

    Continually monitor the market and pricing from current vendors to ensure Everytable is getting the best possible prices, every day.

    Inventory Management (30%)

    Work with VP, Manufacturing to ensure consistent supply of product that also a) minimizes inventory and b) minimizes waste.

    Create processes and procedures to a) verify every single shipment and b) quality test every single shipment from every single vendor.

    Responsibilities:

    Plan, organize, and manage activities related to the procurement of all food and non-food related items, while providing a balanced strategy for cost, quality, and service levels. Assure that food is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of Everytable.

    Manage supplier relationships and performance. Develop and monitor the supplier KPIs. Establish monthly reporting of purchasing activities (management dashboards, hot topics, achievements, risks & opportunities).

    Create and maintain specification sheets for food products. Work with the team to ensure that the company has the highest standards of food safety programs in place with each vendor.

    Identify new suppliers to support future growth. Evaluate potential suppliers concerning the viability of their products and acceptability of their manufacturing facilities.

    Attend trade shows, meet with vendors and visit plants to understand the industry

    Bring new ideas/ products to marketing and culinary on what is happening in industry that keeps us relevant or on the forefront of trends

    Address Quality Control issues company wide and acts as a liaison between vendors, and corporate when issues arise and brings resolution in a timely manner.

    Lead or participate in cross-functional team projects related to product specifications, quality inquiries, product recall, sourcing new ingredients, testing new products, and other key company initiatives

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    7-10 years of experience in supply chain operations; preferably in fresh food manufacturing.

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

    Ability to prioritize effectively and meet multiple deadlines.

    Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of the supply chain, from product development to shipment of products and/or finished items.

    Engaged in the process of continuous improvement.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    Ability to work well independently, but also as a member of a team.

    Proactive, analytical and resourceful problem solver.

    Working knowledge of forecasting techniques.

    Working to advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Chef Tech, Restaurant 365, Google Apps.

    Willingness to wear many different hats at once.

    Must be deeply passionate about social and/or food justice

    Essential Functions:

    Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours.

    Regular bending/kneeling/stooping required

    Regular communication with co-workers.

    Some carrying, moving and positioning of objects and equipment weighing up to 50

    pounds.

    Must be able to work in a fast, sometimes loud environment with varying temperatures.
