The Research Assistant at E&W Research is a part-time, non-exempt position designed for a flexible individual with experience in social science data collection and a positive, adaptable and proactive work attitude.
The Research Assistant collaborates with E&W Senior Staff to tailor and execute data collection efforts to reflect the specific needs of individual clients and assists in each step of the life cycle of the research projects.
We have an upcoming public health study that requires excellent organization skills and the ability to work in a satellite office located in San Jose as well as in downtown San Francisco, if needed.
Hours will be on weekdays between 9AM and 5PM, depending on study participants and scheduling. The Research Assistant will work 32 to 40 hours per week.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Provide support with scheduling and communicating with study participants.
Perform daily tasks to support protocols of study design.
Set up and maintain databases, project specific calendars and tools across a wide variety of platforms (Excel, DocMeIn, Google Drive, and Access).
Work from office in San Jose, CA near Santana Row.
Greet participants, obtain consent for research.
Set up participants to take a survey on a laptop computer.
Communicate with E&W Senior Staff and clients regarding study progress, and project deliverables.
Maintain office management protocols (supplies, staff materials, errands as needed).
Perform special assignments on request.
Qualifications
Extremely reliable and punctual
Excellent computer skills, and ability to use multiple computer programs simultaneously
Courteous and respectful manner with study participants
Background in social science, psychology, sociology or education
Outstanding telephone communication skills
Positive, can-do attitude
Solution-oriented troubleshooter who can adapt to unforeseen project challenges
Ability to work independently with a high level of accountability
Extremely detail-oriented nature with the ability to work effectively on multiple projects/tasks concurrently
Ability to follow directions and perform basic logic checks
Basic knowledge of Qualtrics programming platform a plus
Background in social science, psychology, sociology, or health-related fieldTerms of employmentPart-time position, for 4 -6 months. 32-40 hours a week.
Pay Rate
$24/hr, bi-weekly pay schedule via direct deposit, mileage reimbursement for travel.
