    SUMMARY The Ewing CDL Driver serves as the front line for customer relations, customer service, branch and vehicle maintenance, and daily branch deliveries. A CDL Driver provides meaningful service to our customers in the most pleasant and professional manner possible. A CDL Driver will support the Branch Manager’s and company’s goals. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY:CDL Drivers are expected to support Branch Managers by performing the tasks and activities required for successful branch operations, maintain vehicle safety, as well as providing customer support. Additional requirements include completion of tasks and activities assigned in support of annual plans established by the Branch, its Region and Division. The job performance of a CDL Driver will be evaluated based upon their effectiveness in executing the duties and responsibilities listed below. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Communication

    • Conduct yourself with professionalism in all communication with fellow employees, customers, vendors, management and Home Office staff.

    • Attend and participate in monthly branch meetings.

    • Read and contribute to Company communications, including (but not limited to) the Branch Briefs, E-News Alert, President’s Message, regional newsletters, etc. • Champion Ewing culture and commitment throughout all business activities.

    • Communicate all operational and customers service issues with Branch Manager. Operations

    • Execute the annual plan for the branch in accordance with Branch Manager’s and the Company’s strategic objectives.

    • Properly load merchandise on vehicles and make sure that they are secured according to DOT regulations.

    • Maintain accurate driver log.

    • Transport merchandise to their intended destinations in the safest and most professional manner.

    • Unload merchandise at the customer’s jobsite

    • Follow all safety and vehicle inspection requirements in compliance with state/federal safety standards.

    • Maintaining vehicle: Including safety repairs, normal preventative maintenance, and washing/cleaning inside & out of vehicle.

    • Perform daily branch operations, including (but not limited to) inventory management, customer service, order entry, end-of-day completion, stock transfer and vendor shipping and receiving, debit memos, compliance, marketing database maintenance, merchandising and other general duties, under the direction of the Branch Manager.

    • Perform regular physical inventories and cycle counts. Physical Inventories are performed three times a year, and participation is mandatory. Inventory is typically performed on Friday and Saturday, and multiple prep days may be required before inventory. Inventory includes pre-counting, bar-coding product, counting using the wireless handheld, variance counting and reconciliation. Cycle counts are performed weekly and should be completed on Saturday, unless the branch is closed.

    • Use of payroll system regularly to clock in and out in accordance with Company policy and state/federal laws and regulations. • Maintain facility, including (but not limited to) supply stocking levels, cleanliness, organization of the branch and yard, and suggest cost-saving strategies.

    • Adopt and master the use of basic company tools and systems including technology, software, email, etc. and adhere to Company policy. • Provide superior customer service at all times. • Conduct other duties as assigned by management. Professional Development

    • Actively participate in the Service Professional training program, by using Ewing’s University, demonstration guides, assessment process and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).

    • Participate in regular performance reviews based on the branch business plan and your Individual Development Plan and confirm reviews. `

    • Update personal job knowledge and skill set by participating in ongoing educational opportunities (ie. Regional meetings, vendor product training and all pertinent training opportunities). Business Development

    • Execute and attend branch marketing and business development events; including educational seminars and hands-on workshops, vendor product days, customer appreciation events, barbeques, etc. as directed by the Branch Manager.

    • Maintain customer relationships and participate in education and business development opportunities for customers.

    • Provide support for Branch Manager and regional sales team members in serving customers and achieving sales objectives.

    • Support the Manager, as directed, in execution of branch merchandising.
