    **Job Summary : **

    Law School proctors are responsible for proctoring students' final exams. They play an integral role in ensuring the efficient administration of exams and are expected to act calmly and professionally at all times. Final exams occur in May and December (see below for the next available exam dates). Exams are not held on weekends. Proctors must be available to work most of the days the exams are being offered and attend orientation sessions before the exam period.

    **Responsibilities : **

    • Supervise individuals and classrooms according to strict guidelines to maintain the integrity of the Law School exams.

    • Clearly articulate test-related information, including instructions to groups.

    • Ensure students comply with the Honor Code and set test instructions throughout the duration of the exam.

    • Assist in passing out, collecting, and securing testing and related materials.

    • May serve as a relief (supervising the room while active proctor is on a break) for active proctors.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Monday, April 28th, 2025, through Friday, May 9th, 2025

    Orientation Date:

    Mandatory Orientation, Tuesday, April 8th, 2025

    Proctors need to be available for at least 7 of the exam dates. Actual proctor work assignments will be based on the final exam schedule of the Law School.

    Shifts Available:

    • Shift #1: 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM (end time approximate).

    • Shift #2: 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM (end time approximate).

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary for this position is $16.50.     REQUIRED SKILLS:

     

      • Must have flexible work hours, with the understanding that hours may change based on customer needs.
        • Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues.
        • Requires very good communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.
        • Able to apply functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows other technical tools in completing assignments.
        • Basic math skills and sound mathematical reasoning.
        • Must have an organized approach to task completion and excellent attention to detail. 
        • Physical requirements of this position include: ability to stand for extended period, ability to lift and handle cartons up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 40 pounds on a continuous basis.
        • Ability to solve problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job.
        • Good organizational and communication skills required.
        • Ability to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
        • Ability to effectively communicate with and coach people is required.
        • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and meet stringent deadlines.
        • Available to work overtime to include weekends and holidays.
        • Available to work evening and/or weekend shifts as required.
