    We are a fast-growing; privately held hotel management company based in San Diego, CA with 24 select-service properties in California with 2 additional hotels under construction. We offer a wide variety of quality select-service hotels under various brands including Mariott, Hilton, IHG, Best Western, Wyndham branded hotels.We are currently seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to process payroll for over 500 employees and assist the growing HR department with administrative duties and special projects.Duties/Responsibilities:

    Implements, maintains, and reviews bi-weekly payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.

    Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

    Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

    Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

    Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

    Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.

    Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.

    Prepares periodic reports as needed by department supervisor or Executive Director of earnings, hours worked, and Personal Time Off (PTO).

    Is available to answer employee questions and concerns regarding their paycheck and benefits.

    May assist in the new hire process for staff including pre-employment screening, orientation and processing new hire paperwork.

    May administer benefit plans for Health, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, and Long Term Disability plans. Reconciles monthly billing statements, verifies eligibility processes new enrollments and terminations.

    Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.

    Attends all mandatory in-service meetings. Complies with all department and facilitates policies and procedures.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

    Proficient with payroll software/HRIS systems (Paycom and ADP WFN highly desired).

    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    Experience:

    At least two to four years of related experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
