The public relations specialist is a proactive and detail-oriented individual who coordinates the museum’s public relations efforts, promotes programs and special events, plans and produces events, and provides departmental administrative support. This person is an excellent communicator and a self-starter with at least 2 years of related experience. The coordinator reports to the head of marketing and public relations.
Salary range: $38000 - $48000 per year.
Responsibilities
Develop PR campaigns and media relations strategies
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. marketing) and maintain open communication with senior management
Edit and update promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.)
Prepare and distribute press releases
Organize PR events (e.g. open days, press conferences) and serve as the company’s spokesperson
Seek opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising
Address inquiries from the media and other parties
Track media coverage and follow industry trends
Prepare and submit PR reports
Requirements:
Prior experience in communications and sales is an asset.
Flawless written and spoken English.
A profound understanding of engaging with communities.
Great interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
The ability to stay highly organized with great attention to detail.
A friendly, outgoing disposition.
