Job Description

We are looking to hire Sr. software engineer focused on hyperscale Data Center and Backbone networking. Our Global Network Software Engineering team supports the company's production network.  As a member of this team, you will design and develop new products leveraging open data plane hardware for building highly scalable route/forwarding control system. The goal is to deliver scale and reliability to our Global network covering datacenter, edge and backbone core. These products defining the Platform will be built drawing expertise from cross-disciplinary areas including large scale distributed systems, fault-tolerant systems, concurrent systems, operating systems and high performance analytics. As a network software engineer, you will be working closely with the engineering and the operation team with the goal of defining, building and operationalization of the product. In addition, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the industry partners to learn and drive new technologies.

REMOTE JavaScript & Python Network Software Engineer- SQLAlchemy, JS frameworks, Couchbase REQUIRED SORRY, NO RECRUITERS. Must be based in the USA.

You will be managing the infrastructure and defining the entire network using software. Must know how to make sure the data is defined at the right speed. Couchbase is REQUIRED. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The candidate will have wide latitude in making contributions in several areas. In this highly visible role, you will work within the various members of the architecture and engineering teams providing guidance in technologies, product feature definitions and tradeoffs and architecture definition. You will utilize your in-depth networking and systems industry knowledge in providing technical assistance to various teams in terms of consultation, direction, process improvements and productivity improvements.
• Developing a network with professionals outside  as well establishing key technical relationships with various internal teams. You will utilize your excellent communication skills interacting with peer groups & drive technical presentations. Work with NetOps, SRE, SysEng, SysOps, Switch Development, and other teams on complex projects, escalations, and organic growth to sustain the business.

REQUIRED:

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or related practical experience.

• 2+ years of relevant work experience working in the UNIX/Linux environment.

• 2+ years of software development in one or more object-oriented languages such as Python, Ruby, or GO.

• Experience in Python development using frameworks like Django, Flask, Jinja, SQLAlchemy.

• Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Redux, Vue, Ember, or Angular.

• 5+ years of relevant work experience.

• Experience in Python and Javascript development using frameworks like Django, Flask, SQLAlchemy, Jinja, React, Redux, Vue, Ember, or Angular.

• Knowledge of database systems (MySql, PostgreSQL, Redis, Couchbase, InfluxDB).

• Knowledge of large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures.

• Experience automating production infrastructure at Internet-scale companies.

• Experience building data center automation or cloud management systems at scale.

• Ability to diagnose and rectify performance issues at any layer of a multi-tier architecture.

• Experience in Manageability infrastructure tools Ansible, REST/gRPC, NETCONF etc.

• Knowledge of Internet and networking protocols.
