  • Responsibilities
    1. Basic disassembly and washing of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
    2. Identify serviceable vs. non serviceable parts.
    3. Operation of semi-automatic equipment i.e. pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultra-sonic washers.
    4. Handle valves, parts, tools in a safe manner.
    5. Proper use of power and manual tools. i.e. impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools.
    6. Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
    7. Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary. Annual hazardous waste management will be completed. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper will be completed every three (3) years.
    8. Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
    9. Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
    10. Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
    11. Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.

    Required Skills

    1. Technical Capacity
    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
    • Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
    • Good mechanical skills
    • Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.
    • Ability to complete disassembly process without destroying parts.
    • Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.
