    SALT Shelter Island is seeking a seasoned Executive Chef to lead a high-volume waterfront kitchen through peak East End season.

    This is a senior culinary leadership role for an operator who understands structure, accountability, and consistency during demanding seasonal service.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The Role

    • Lead and develop a 10–15 person culinary team
    • Oversee food cost, labor, and operational systems
    • Manage purchasing, inventory, and purveyor relationships
    • Execute seasonal menus utilizing fresh local seafood and produce
    • Maintain standards during extended peak-season service

    Peak summer weeks require stamina and focus. The right candidate is comfortable leading through high-volume periods while maintaining composure and structure.

    Leadership Profile

    We are looking for:

    • 5+ years senior kitchen leadership experience
    • Experience in seasonal or coastal environments preferred
    • Proven P&L management
    • Ability to build and retain strong kitchen teams
    • Calm, disciplined leadership style
    • High standards with low ego

    ServSafe certification required. Open availability including nights and weekends.
