    About the Opportunity

    A well-established addiction treatment provider is seeking an experienced Executive Director to oversee the daily operations and long-term success of its residential treatment facility in the Richmond, Virginia area.

    This executive leadership role is responsible for the overall performance of the organization, including clinical and operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, staff development, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a proven behavioral healthcare leader with strong operational expertise and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

    Position Overview

    The Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across all departments, ensuring high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational goals. This individual will work closely with department leaders to drive performance, strengthen culture, and support continued organizational growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide executive leadership for all facility operations

    • Oversee client care, operational performance, and patient satisfaction

    • Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements, Joint Commission standards, and all regulatory agencies

    • Drive financial performance, budgeting, and operational efficiency

    • Lead, mentor, and develop department directors and management staff

    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

    • Oversee business office operations and revenue cycle performance

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with referral partners and community stakeholders

    • Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategic initiatives to achieve organizational goals

    • Partner with executive leadership to support long-term growth and operational excellence

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred)

    • Minimum 5 years of executive or senior leadership experience within substance abuse and/or behavioral healthcare

    • Demonstrated success leading addiction treatment or behavioral health facilities

    • Strong knowledge of Virginia state licensing requirements and Joint Commission accreditation

    • Experience implementing and operating within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) REQUIRED

    • Strong background in business office management, operational leadership, and financial oversight

    • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive organizational performance

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience overseeing residential addiction treatment programs

    • Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare operations, census management, and regulatory compliance

    • Experience developing referral relationships and community partnerships

    • Multi-site leadership experience is a plus

    This is a full-time, onsite executive leadership position. Only candidates with senior leadership experience in substance abuse and/or behavioral healthcare, along with demonstrated operational, regulatory, and financial leadership experience, will be considered.
