    Southeast Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (SEHPBA) Executive Director

    Reports To: SEHPBA Board of Directors

    Job Summary:

    The Executive Director is responsible to implement direction from the SEHPBA Board of Directors, and manage operations of the organization. This role ensures the organization's mission, vision, and goals are effectively achieved.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Operational Oversight

    Ensure day-to-day operations are efficiently managed.

    Implement and coordinate program development, service delivery, and collect & report on performance metrics as directed by BOD.

    Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

    Supervise outside service providers or additional staff as approved by the BOD, including website and social media companies.

    Produce, manage, and coordinate all aspects of SEHPBA board meetings and outside events and receptions.

    Financial Management

    Implement and oversee annual budgets and financial plans.

    Ensure bill payment, banking, and other day-to-day financial operations are managed in a timely fashion.

    Provide regular financial reporting to the BOD Treasurer and Board.

    Provide necessary information to CPA (paid by SEHPBA) for tax preparation or other reporting as directed by the BOD.

    External Relations & Advocacy

    Represent the organization to members, media, and the public.

    Build and retain membership by communicating regularly with potential members and membership. Includes maintaining member database.

    Build and maintain strategic partnerships and funding relationships.

    Monitor legislative development of interest to members.

    Advocate for the organization’s mission with policy makers, sponsors, and community leaders.

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience in office management.

    Knowledge of related industries.

    Demonstrated ability in office and communications technology.

    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

    Normal duties include:

    About 25 hours of work (average) per week in a home office.

    Being available for communication on weekdays, with some availability for scheduled events on weekends.

    Expense-paid travel several times a year as a representative of the SEHPBA at HPBExpo, regional meetings, regular in-person board meetings, or HPBA Affiliate meetings.

    Salary range: $45-$56k depending on related experience (comparable hourly to $72 - $90k full-time)
